We are looking for a Project Coordinator with a hands-on electrical background (commercial or industrial) who is eager to transition into project coordination and management. This role will support the project team and state manager in delivering tunnel and rail projects, assisting with estimating, quoting, and overall project support.

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical work and be keen to develop their skills in project coordination, estimation, and stakeholder management. This is a position that offers a pathway to project management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Support

  • Assist the Project Manager and State Manager in the planning and execution of electrical projects.
  • Help develop and maintain project management plans, materials draw-down schedules, and project folders.
  • Liaise with suppliers, clients, and regulatory authorities to facilitate project execution.
  • Coordinate tenders, estimations and pricing proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, client requirements, and company procedures.
  • Support procurement by generating purchase orders (POs) and work orders (WOs).
  • Maintain project records, documentation, and registers.

Quoting & Estimating Support

  • Assist in developing project scopes, material take-offs, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Work with estimators to prepare quotes and tenders, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Analyse project designs to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies.
  • Ensure all tender submissions and variations are tracked and documented.

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Act as a point of contact between project managers, site teams, and clients.
  • Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders, ensuring expectations are met.
  • Support client meetings, site visits, and project handovers.
  • Address project variations, changes, and queries in a timely manner.

Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to WHS, quality, and environmental policies across all projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments, site safety inspections, and compliance audits.
  • Support the completion of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

Requirements
Experience & Skills

  • Hands-on experience in commercial or industrial electrical work (minimum 2-5 years).
  • Understanding of electrical project coordination, estimating, and pricing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Simpro, MS Projects, and AutoCAD(desirable).
  • Previous experience in rail or tunnel projects is an advantage.

Education & Qualifications

  • Electrical trade qualification or Electrical Engineering Degree (required).
  • White Card & Electrical Licence (required).

What’s in it for You?

  • Opportunity to grow into a Project Manager.
  • Exposure to Tier 1 infrastructure projects in the tunnel and rail sector.
  • Competitive salary with career progression opportunities.
  • Supportive team environment within an established electrical company.

If you’re looking for a dynamic role that bridges hands-on electrical work with project management, we’d love to hear from you! Apply today and take the next step in your career.
