About the Role
As the Event Coordinator - South Australia and ACT for The American Chamber of Commerce in Australia, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a range of high-profile events and networking opportunities for our members in these key locations. This full-time position will see you based in our Adelaide office, overseeing events in both South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. Strong administrative skills and planning skills are essential for this role, as you will be responsible for managing event logistics, budgets, and communications.
What You'll Be Doing
- Work closely with the General Manager to plan and coordinate all events in South Australia and ACT, including luncheons, seminars, webinars, roundtables, and networking functions.
- Manage event budgets, suppliers, and venues to ensure events run seamlessly and within budget.
- Liaise with sponsors and speakers to secure high-calibre content and support for our events.
- Promote events through various marketing channels to maximise attendance and engagement.
- Provide on-site management and support at all events in Adelaide with occasional travel to the ACT.
- Gather feedback and data to continuously improve the event experience for our members.
- Perform administrative tasks such as setting up events in iMIS, managing attendee registrations, and preparing event collateral.
What We're Looking For
- 2-3 years' experience in event coordination or management, ideally within a membership organisation or the not-for-profit sector.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines.
- Proficient in using event management software, CRM systems, and digital marketing platforms.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with a keen eye for detail.
- Knowledge of the South Australian and ACT business communities and networks would be highly regarded.
