Payroll Manager
Local Council – Northern Suburbs
$90 p/hour + super and above | 38 hours p/week | Hybrid arrangement

We are looking for a Payroll Manager to join our client, a local council in Melbourne’s northern suburbs, on a temporary 4-month contract with the potential for permanency. This role is an excellent opportunity to lead a payroll team and ensure smooth, accurate payroll operations.
Must have Chris21/iChris experience.
About the Role:
- Lead and manage a team of four Payroll Officers.
- Oversee the preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
- Supervise payroll functions to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Manage year-end functions, including payment summaries, tax updates, EBA rate increases, and legislative tax changes.
- Maintain payroll records, ensuring compliance with the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and relevant legislation.
About You:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a Payroll Manager role, preferably within the Public Sector, Not-for-Profit, Education, or Healthcare sectors.
- Strong experience with Chris21/iChris payroll systems.
- Ability to lead a team and oversee payroll operations with accuracy and efficiency.
