Supply Nation is seeking a Senior Assistant Accountant to join their Sydney finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager the Senior Assistant Accountant supports the finance team in managing daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, and compliance requirements. This role involves processing transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and assisting in audits and tax filings.

The Senior Assistant Accountant is responsible for financial transactions and record keeping, nominated project financial management, assisting with tax filings including GST, PAYG and FBT, financial reporting and analysis and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The role is also responsible for payroll preparation, record keeping and the ongoing maintenance of the payroll system.

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 5-8 years’ accounting experience (preferred but not always required).
• Passion for our service delivered with empathy, confidence & engaging energy.
• Commitment to support the development of the Indigenous business sector.
• Cultural awareness and integrity- respect for others and confidentiality.
• Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, or relevant accounting standards.
• Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• A positive can-do attitude.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience working with C-levels in large companies and government agencies.
• High level of tact, people skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
