The Role
We’re on the hunt for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at NOLA Adelaide. Working alongside our Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in delivering bold, Southern-inspired dishes that showcase local produce and big flavours. You’ll help lead the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, support and mentor junior staff, contribute to menu development, and maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and cleanliness. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, hands-on chef who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to be part of a tight-knit, passionate team.

Sous Chef Responsibilities:

• Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
• Assist in menu planning and development, bringing creative ideas to the table
• Ensure consistency and quality across all dishes
• Oversee food preparation and service during busy service periods
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
• Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and manage waste effectively
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen culture
• Step up and lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
