The Role
We’re on the hunt for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at NOLA Adelaide. Working alongside our Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in delivering bold, Southern-inspired dishes that showcase local produce and big flavours. You’ll help lead the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, support and mentor junior staff, contribute to menu development, and maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and cleanliness. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, hands-on chef who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to be part of a tight-knit, passionate team.
Sous Chef Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
- Assist in menu planning and development, bringing creative ideas to the table
- Ensure consistency and quality across all dishes
- Oversee food preparation and service during busy service periods
- Supervise, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and manage waste effectively
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative kitchen culture
- Step up and lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
To be successful in this role you will NEED:
- A bloody great and positive attitude
- Prior experience in a similar role
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays
