The Organisation

Our client is a specialist organisation that supports young people, those with disabilities, and people seeking personal wellbeing and independence. They are an an innovative and growing support service, specialising in providing residential care for young people who have complex needs and challenging behaviour.

Our client offers a range of tailored supports, including Mentoring, Supported Independent Living (SIL), Disability Support, Residential Care, and adventure activities to participants across Greater Brisbane and the surrounding South East Queensland region. They implement the National Principles of Child Safe Organisations and put the best interests of children and young people first, ensuring that they are safe, happy and engaged.

The Role

We are recruiting for a Program Manager - Residential Care. This role is Permanent Full Time, working from Monday-Friday during business hours (generally 8:30am-4:30pm). Working hours will be split between Southern and Northern Brisbane office locations.

The Program Manager is responsible for the overall leadership of all Residential Care programs, ensuring best practice service delivery, compliance with regulatory standards, and program growth. This role oversees strategic development, people leadership, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance young people outcomes and program expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery, outcomes, and innovation, aligned with organisational values.
  • Ensure compliance with Care Standards, Child Safety and the OOHC Outcomes Framework.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies to improve outcomes for young people.
  • Lead and grow the residential care program, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  • Act as the primary contact for Child Safety Placement Services and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Participate in the placement committee to assess vacancies, referrals, and suitability for placements.
  • Support Care Team Leaders in young people’s transitions and placement negotiations.
  • Regularly review and update support models to sustain program growth.
  • Prepare reports, funding proposals, and strategic plans to ensure service sustainability.
  • Complete Supplier Responses with Finance and manage contingency hours for billing.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, legislation, and incident management.
  • Lead, mentor, and support teams to foster a high-performing workforce.
  • Promote professional development, conduct evaluations, and manage behavior interventions.
  • Oversee audits, ensure policies and procedures are followed, and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Uphold child safety, well-being, and cultural safety, adhering to WHS legislation and policies.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.

To Be Successful

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the industry in a managerial role
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in an industry relevant area
  • Experience in Residential Care and Disability services highly regarded
  • Blue and Yellow Cards
  • Current driver’s licence
  • LCS2 (Child Safety Screening Check) or ability to obtain
  • Traffic History Report or ability to obtain

Desirable

  • Post-graduate studies in relevant fields
  • 10 years experience in the community services sector
