Our client is a reputable not-for-profit and training organisation providing vocational education and training to the Aboriginal community health sector. A strong advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health in Victoria, they support 33 members in delivering culturally safe health and social services.

The Role

As the Community Services Trainer, you will provide high-quality, expert training to students across the varying SEWB qualifications. You will empower students to complete their studies for their vocational enhancements and community whilst ensuring completion rates meet the required benchmark.

This is a 24-month contract role and teaching will be sessional. Hybrid working arrangements may be considered where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate and contribute to the development, delivery, assessment, validation and moderations of accredited education programs
• Deliver/facilitate education workshops, incorporating simulated learning and on and off-the-job assessments
• Conduct assessments using a variety of methods
• Develop and modify resources to suit the needs of students and employers
• Ensure compliance with ASQA, professional accreditation bodies and funding body requirements

The Successful Candidate

• Evidence of qualifications at or above Diploma level
• Evidence of relative industry experience (at least 2 full years within the past 5 years)
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, or higher
• Ability to apply cultural safety to education delivery
• Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and commitment to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and health (highly regarded)
