WHAT YOU WILL GAIN FROM THE EXPERIENCE - OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The National Gallery is seeking a senior marketing and tourism officer to join its dynamic Marketing team in the Marketing, Communications and Visitor Experience Portfolio. In this role you will deliver significant audience engagement outcomes for the National Gallery with responsibility for managing email marketing, developing and implementing tourism strategies and supporting marketing activity for major exhibitions and displays, public programs and learning, commercial partnerships and operations, foundation and membership.
Working closely with the Marketing Manager, this position helps to set priorities to achieve the National Gallery’s strategic goals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- strategic planning, production and delivery of advertising and promotional materials
- managing the Gallery’s direct email marketing, including automations, training, CRM integrations and managing marketing contacts
- developing tourism marketing campaigns and initiatives including, maintaining relationships with industry stakeholders, managing industry briefings and representation at key tourism events
This position of Senior Marketing and Tourism Officer role is an ongoing full-time role in the Marketing team.
THE KEY DUTIES OF THE POSITION - WHAT WILL YOU DO? – DUTY STATEMENT
In accordance with the APS 6 work level standards, you will:
- Provide expertise and technical knowledge required to manage the Gallery’s direct email marketing, including automations, integration and training with other program areas of the Gallery.
- Innovate and deliver tourism initiatives which drive visitation from interstate and international markets and raise the profile of the National Gallery, its exhibitions and events.
- Deliver marketing campaign activity across print, digital, radio, TV, outdoor, edm and other channels for National Gallery exhibitions and programs ensuring high quality execution and timely delivery of material.
- Provide specialist advice for marketing strategies, departmental goals and participate in the Gallery’s initiatives and activities as required.
- Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Partnerships Team to develop tourism networks and secure strategic cross promotions, delivering cooperative marketing opportunities and relationship management with relevant industry operators.
- Coordinate the National Gallery’s tourism briefing on events, represent the Gallery at key industry events and submissions to relevant award and accreditation programs.
- Liaise with departments across the National Gallery to coordinate opening event invitation mailings including the collation of lists, database updates and management of RSVPs ensuring effective processes are followed.
- Undertake complex work, under limited supervision to support the marketing department including coordinating promotions, events, administration and research projects.
ELIGIBILITY:
Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the Gallery, you must be an Australian citizen.
Police Check – to be eligible for this role you must complete a police check.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - Qualifications, Certifications and Registrations
Role specific mandatory qualifications certification and/or registrations include:
▪ Experience and/or qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Business or related discipline will be an advantage.
