The Role
A State Government Agency is seeking a Senior Project Officer for a contract role until the end of June 2025, with a potential to extend. This position is essential in supporting the delivery and implementation of the waste-to-energy cap licensing scheme. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to establish and implement a new licensing frameworks for WTE facilities.

Responsibilities

• Assess and advise on expressions of interest and applications for waste-to-energy licences.
• Review technical information related to waste-to-energy facilities and provide advice to senior staff.
• Deliver high-quality reports, submissions, and presentations for the Minister and senior staff to support regulatory activities.

About You

• Demonstrated experience in complex licensing assessments or decision-making, ideally within a regulatory or legal context.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• A relevant qualification in Environmental Engineering, Law, or a related field would be highly regarded.
