Job Summary:

Our Client is looking for a skilled APS6 Senior Communication Officer to join the Internal Communication team. This role involves developing and implementing communication strategies, advising on internal projects, and managing key staff communication channels to align employees with departmental goals and foster a strong organisational culture.

Key Duties:

  • Lead the development and implementation of internal communication strategies and materials for various departmental projects.
  • Create high-quality communication content for a range of platforms, ensuring it aligns with departmental priorities.
  • Provide strategic communication advice to business areas, ensuring messaging is clear and consistent.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of the Internal Communication Strategy, focusing on fostering engagement and collaboration across the department.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand communication needs and deliver tailored solutions that address operational priorities.
  • Manage and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring communication objectives are met.
  • Assist with issues management, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to communication challenges.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal communication strategies and recommend improvements.
  • Lead or support communications projects and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet business objectives.
  • Provide regular updates on communication activities to leadership and the broader team.

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

  • Significant experience in internal communications, with the ability to manage complex projects and initiatives.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft messages for diverse audiences and various channels.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide high-level advice on communication matters.
  • A proven track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong project management capabilities, with experience in delivering communications initiatives on time and within scope.
  • Creativity and innovation in developing communication solutions, while adhering to organisational goals and priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to tailor messages to suit different stakeholder needs.
  • An understanding of issues management and the ability to navigate challenging communication situations effectively.
  • Sound judgement, professionalism, and a proactive approach to delivering communication strategies and advice.
