MAYDAY Recruitment is excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Property Claims Examiner to join a leading global insurance company. Your primary responsibility will be to handle a portfolio of small to intermediate property claims with professionalism, efficiency, and accuracy. You will work directly with customers, brokers, and internal teams to investigate, assess, and resolve claims, ensuring that all tasks are completed in line with company guidelines and the highest service standards.

Main responsibilities include:
- Claims Management: Handle a portfolio of commercial property claims, including analysing first reports, determining the nature of loss, and evaluating the scope of damage.
- Coverage and Reserving: Assess claims, quality requirements, and compliance with industry regulations. You will be responsible for determining coverage, reserving within established timeframes, making payments, and responding to customer queries
- Communication: Serve as the key contact for brokers, claimants, and other stakeholders, ensuring prompt and clear communication through telephone and written correspondence
- Documentation: Ensure all developments are properly documented in the claims management system
- Training and Development: Actively participate in training and seek technical assistance when handling claims beyond your delegated authority
- Escalation and Collaboration: Respond to enquiries and escalations from underwriters, brokers, and customers, collaborating with other departments as necessary
- Negotiation: Negotiate compromise settlements when appropriate, ensuring fair and effective resolutions
- Vendor Management: Control the use of outside vendors, ensuring the quality of work and controlling expenses
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with claims policies, including fraud, salvage, and complaints. Take ownership of risks and controls within your area and promote a strong risk culture
The ideal candidate:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
- Strong investigation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially related to claims handling
- Knowledge of insurance contracts
- Experience in damage and/or loss evaluation
- Strong negotiation skills
- Solid reserving experience
- Understanding of Chubb’s claims philosophy
- Ability to participate in audits
