The Role
To provide direct support to women and children experiencing family and domestic violence to enhance their safety, build resilience and empowerment by using a client-centered and strengths-based approach that is client led. Increase safety and well-being of women and children experiencing family violence, reducing instances of domestic violence recidivism, reduce and enhanced community awareness and support for survivors.
A Few Specifics
- Case management – individualised support plans and ongoing support to achieve goals, coordinate services, and monitoring of progress.
- Crisis Intervention - providing immediate support to ensure safety from harm.
- Advocate and provide assistance in navigating complex service systems.
- Advocate and refer on behalf of clients and their families with other government departments, agencies, services or program.
- Collaboration with Safe at Home Perpetrator Response program for accountability mapping and behaviour evaluation to support women and children’s safety.
Selection Criteria
- Recognised TAFE qualifications in Community Services and or related Tertiary qualifications.
- Up to 3 years’ experience.
- Demonstrated experience conducting in, working with families experiencing family and domestic violence.
- Demonstrated understanding of delivering culturally competent services.
- Experience living and working in a remote / regional community.
