Transport and Main Roads (TMR) is seeking a Technical Specialist (GitHub) to lead the charge in managing and evolving our GitHub platform.

The purpose of the Technical Specialist (GitHub) is to maintain and develop the GitHub source control repository platform in support of other application development teams across Transport and Main Roads.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Monitoring repositories, analysing repository health, and implementing platform modifications to support the rest of TMR.
• Research current trends and patterns, recommending to the wider team on how to adopt these.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to code, repositories, or integrations within the GitHub ecosystem.
• Monitor and improve the deployment process, focusing on automation, testing and code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver projects efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, data privacy regulations, and industry standards.

Requirements of the role:
• High level knowledge and experience in supporting the GitHub platform across multiple technology repositories.
• Experience with Microsoft's Azure DevOps product will be considered advantageous.
• Working knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Working knowledge of how to configure GitHub Actions, Dependabot, Advanced Security, apps, hosted runners and other GitHub technologies.
• Working knowledge of how to migrate into GitHub from other source repositories (for example: SVN, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
