Designer Staircases is a leading staircase company based in Prestons, near Liverpool in Sydney, NSW. We provide custom staircases to builders and private clients in Sydney and surrounding areas. We are looking for an experienced timber CNC operator with immediate start available.

What You'll Be Doing

• Setting up and operating CNC machines to enable drilling, cutting, and shaping materials
• Programming of Biesse CNC machines
• Routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and ordering of parts when required
• Interpreting workshop drawings
• Quality control of finished products
• Maintaining a clean and organised area in compliance with safety requirements

Skills required:

• Previous experience as timber CNC Machinist
• CNC Programming (3-Axis essential and having 5-Axis is a definite advantage)
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
• Basic machine maintenance & troubleshooting
• Strong attention to detail including measuring & cutting
• Ability to communicate and work in team or without supervision

What you Need

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar timber role (incl. machine maintenance)
• Good time management skills
• To be currently based in Sydney (sorry - no sponsorships will be given)
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Carpentry background is an advantage

As one of our CNC operators, you will be part of a company that pushes the boundaries of innovation and design in the staircase industry. This role is a crucial position in our company, as our 3 and 5 axis CNC machines are a backbone of our company and expansion with these machines is where the company is heading. This ensures that our high standard of quality and accuracy is met across all our custom staircases and balustrades that we design, manufacture and install.
