Service:

Allied and Community Health Service

Our Allied and Community Health Teams are multi-disciplinary teams who work together towards the common goal of improving health outcomes of our community members. Services are based in Port Augusta and Whyalla, with regular outreach clinics held in Roxby Downs, Quorn, Hawker, Maree and Leigh Creek. We offer a wide range of centre-based, in-home and community-based services to people of all ages and tailor our services to best meet our client needs. About the Role:

Under the guidance of the Regional Clinical Senior Occupational Therapist, the Regional Child Health & Development Occupational Therapist (AHP1) will play a key role in delivering a comprehensive range of health services tailored to meet the needs of the local community. Working within a dynamic, multi-professional team, you’ll collaborate with health professionals and service providers from various sectors, applying a mix of preventative care, early intervention, treatment, therapy, and evaluation strategies to improve community health.

As a Regional Child Health & Development Team Occupational Therapist (AHP2), you will bring clinical expertise and a growing depth of generalist and/or specialist knowledge to plan, implement, and evaluate services that make a real impact. Operating with greater clinical independence, you'll also have the opportunity to contribute to the supervision and development of less experienced professionals, allied health assistants, and students. Be a vital part of a collaborative team and help drive positive change in the community with your expertise and passion for child health and development!

About You:

  • Must hold a recognised qualification within the Occupational Therapy profession and be eligible for full membership of the relevant allied health Professional Association.

AHP1:

  • Provide a range of clinical services, selecting and applying well-established methods, procedures, and standards.
  • Exercise professional judgment with support from a Clinical Senior to verify methods and results.
  • Deliver straightforward clinical services, including one-on-one, group, and health promotion activities.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize your personal workload.

AHP2:

  • Apply professional expertise to deliver services, enhancing generalist/specialist knowledge and clinical competence for complex cases.
  • Use professional judgment to adapt methods, procedures, and techniques as needed.
  • Offer a range of clinical and consultative services across diverse settings, including individual, group, and health promotion activities.
  • Manage your own workload and guide others in workload planning and resource allocation.
