About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety excellence within our organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and coaching to other members of the HSE Team.
- Provide HSE guidance and advice to the Management Team.
- Lead serious incident investigations across the Company as required. Provide incident investigation support and coaching to Project HSE Team.
- Coordinate incident investigations into health and safety incidents across the Company as required. Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Provide incident investigation support and coaching to Project HSE Team.
- Analyse HSE performance trends, develop and support the implementation of Company Wide Initiatives.
- Coordinate and Lead the HSE audit program across the Company.
- Support HSE Training and Development Programs.
- Coordinate and delivery of HSE training as required and ensure records are maintained.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and embed best practice HSE process across sites.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to enhance workplace safety.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels, mentoring junior safety personnel.
- Ensure the Operations / Projects remain compliant with all health and safety regulations, staying ahead of industry changes.
- Establish Safety Metric Recording and Reporting in the Company.
Requirements:
- Minimum Cert IV Work Health and Safety or Occupational Health and Safety
- Cert IV Trainer and Assessor desirable
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health and safety role within the mining or heavy earthworks industry
- Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards
- Proven experience in developing and implementing safety management systems
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and root causes of safety incidents
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with safety reporting and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
