We are Focused Healthcare, a Community Services provider in North Brisbane, providing a range of community care and support services to people living with disability and ageing.

We are looking for a reliable committed Part Time Rostering Officer who wants to make a difference by supporting our clients to live the way they choose.

The Role

The Rostering Officer is responsible for delivering exceptional rostering support, ensuring that clients receive their scheduled care and supports by appropriately trained staff. This role is vital in maintaining smooth operations and ensuring that all shifts are appropriately filled in a timely manner with skilled and qualified staff, in alignment with client care needs and service requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Roster Management: Create, maintain, and update accurate rosters for staff in accordance with client care needs, ensuring that shifts are filled by appropriately trained and qualified personnel.
  • Staff Allocation: Assign staff to shifts based on their skills, qualifications, and availability, ensuring the best match for each client's individual needs.
  • Communication: Maintain effective communication with staff, clients, and management to ensure schedules are met, addressing any last-minute changes or absences promptly.
  • Compliance: Ensure all rostering complies with relevant regulations, client requirements, and organisational policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of rostering processes, identifying efficiencies and areas for development.
  • Emergency Response: Be prepared to react to emergency staffing needs, including last-minute shift changes or weather events, ensuring that client care is not disrupted.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, clients, and management.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in scheduling and data management.
  • Experience in a rostering or administrative role, preferably within the aged care, NDIS or healthcare sector.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in aged care.
  • Ability to use rostering software or systems proficiently.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and issue resolution.

  • Experience using health information systems.
  • The ability to balance conflicting demands within tight timeframes or seek advice when necessary.
  • The ability to maintain composure and positivity during periods of rapid change.
  • Demonstrated experience in working within a team, using initiative, sound reasoning, and strong listening skills.
  • A client-centered approach, with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to escalate issues and receive feedback to develop effective solutions.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and sensitively with a diverse range of clients, including those with challenging behaviors and those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Requirements and Selection Criteria

  • Experience working in a team within the medical/healthcare profession
  • Experience working in a rostering team within a community support services environment (desirable)
  • Strong administration skills with a keen attention to detail
  • NDIS Worker Clearance Screening
  • Blue Card
  • National Police Check
  • Comply with the Queensland Government COVID-19 Vaccination Direction
