THE ROLE
This role contributes to the development and implementation of strategic health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) projects and priorities. This will include development and implementation of procedures and guidance for a systematic and consistent approach to the management of employee health, safety and wellbeing aligned with better practice and standards; provision of support to department programs to identify and manage HSW risks; and the development and/or improvement of HSW systems and solutions that are fit for purpose and effective.
The role will interface with a range of internal and external stakeholders requiring strong subject matter expertise and excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
The role will be required to represent the HSW team at relevant internal and external forums, committees and working groups
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Develop and lead implementation of priority projects and systems in support of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Strategy to address key HSW risks in the department, including but not limited to psychosocial risks and work-related violence risks.
- Provide sound and strategic advice and expertise across the department on a broad range of health and safety matters drawing on your subject matter expertise, research, and evidence-based leading practice, to improve HSW outcomes.
- Provide expert advice on matters related to compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
