The Opportunity
We are seeking a driven, technically proficient Account Manager to join our commercial team and help expand our reach in the small-scale commercial solar sector (6.6kW – 100kW systems).
In this remote role, you’ll work closely with small businesses, not-for-profit organisations, and commercial property owners—initiating contact, analysing energy consumption, preparing accurate proposals, and guiding customers through to conversion.
This is an ideal opportunity for a self-starter with a strong sales background in commercial solar who thrives on delivering results and building trusted client relationships.
This is a remote position, offering flexibility to work from home while collaborating with teams
and partners across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively engage cold leads and convert opportunities into signed projects.
- Prepare accurate, CEC-compliant solar quotes based on analysis of energy bills and site conditions.
- Assess electrical infrastructure and identify key switchboard elements to scope system compatibility.
- Analyse energy usage patterns (including interval data) to support ROI and cost-benefit calculations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients to generate repeat business and referrals.
- Keep meticulous records of leads, communications, and pipeline stages in the company CRM.
- Collaborate with internal teams to help meet sales targets and deliver high-quality customer experiences.
Success Metrics
- Consistent achievement (or overachievement) of monthly sales targets.
- High conversion rates from lead engagement to contract closure.
- High-quality client relationships resulting in referrals or ongoing commercial work.
- Accurate and timely updates in CRM, with strong pipeline visibility.
Your Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience in small-scale commercial solar (up to 100kW).
- Solid understanding of solar technology, energy systems, and industry regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to quote accurately and communicate system value clearly to clients.
- Confident analysing electricity usage and proposing tailored energy solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with business owners and NFPs.
- Track record of converting cold leads into closed business with a consultative approach.
- Proficient with CRM systems and digital sales tools.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working independently from a home office.
- CEC Solar Designer Accreditation is highly regarded but not essential.
