Quantum Comms are a well-established company specialising in Rigging, Civils, Comms, EWP and plant hire with a long history of delivering complex projects in the telecommunication field. Currently based in Victoria with presence in Queensland, with the ability to service Clients Australia wide.

About the Job

Due to expansion in our industry, we are seeking an experience Telecommunications Technician with very strong radio equipment installation, integration, commissioning and troubleshooting skills to join our crew.

Permanent, full-time position

  • Be available to work Monday to Friday and at times over the weekend
  • Office located in Craigieburn
  • Working within Melbourne metro and regionally across Australia
  • You must be willing to travel and work away from home in remote locations in Regional Victoria and surrounding states.

About You

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within the industry
  • Experience working on Telstra, Vodafone, Optus, Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia 2G/3G/LTE RBS/BTS equipment aswell as Microwave radios
  • Liaise with NOC team to clear alarms such as VSWR, RTWP etc
  • Technically minded
  • Able to go by client’s specifications, standards and HSE guidelines
  • Appropriately skilled with MS applications including excel and word

Duties and Tasks :

  • Install and commission network equipment - new builds and upgrading of existing networks.
  • Run and terminate cables, including data, coaxial, DC power, earth, and optical fibre.
  • Proof tests such as line testing, circuit commissioning and DC power tests.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, design documents, product and client specifications, and implement/install equipment as per design.
  • Analyse and troubleshoot system faults.
  • Attach wires and cables to appliances
  • Adjust, replace and repair faulty items, and tests equipment using electronic instruments
  • Working together with Riggers and Engineers.
  • Ensure adherence to client service standards as well as legislative (including OH&S) and other relevant regulatory requirements.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • Industry Construction White Card.
  • Current Manual Drivers Licence.
  • The highest commitment to safe working practices.
  • Ability to work both autonomously, and as part of a team, in a safe, timely manner.
  • You must be available to travel and work away from home on a regular basis when required.
  • The successful applicant will need to complete an Australian Federal Police Check.
