About the role

Stroud Homes Toowoomba is seeking a talented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our growing team. As a full-time Construction Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and comprehensive estimates for our construction projects in the Darling Downs area. It is our mission to provide new home buyers with an outstanding, frictionless and stress free building experience from the moment of enquiry – through to handing over the keys. What you'll be doing

• Prepare detailed and accurate bills of quantity for a variety of construction projects, including new homes, renovations, and additions
• Collaborate with our sales and design teams to understand project requirements and specifications
• Conduct thorough material takeoffs and pricing research to ensure competitive and profitable estimates
• Provide timely and responsive support to our construction team, assisting with client inquiries and proposals
• Continuously monitor and adjust estimates as projects progress, identifying potential savings or cost overruns
• Contribute to the development and improvement of our estimating processes and tools

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the residential building industry
• Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and pricing
• Proficiency in using estimating software and spreadsheet applications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and precision
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure
