Senior Design Manager
3-Year Major Infrastructure Project

Location: East Coast, with some travel
Contract: 12 month contract (3+ year project)
Start: Mid to late April.

About the Project

We’re supporting a major energy project in Australia who are looking for a Senior Design Manager to join the business on a 12 month rolling contract to be based on the east coast. This is major energy project that requires a solid background and track record in the energy & HV sector.

The Opportunity

As the Design Manager for this project you’ll take the reins on one of the most critical workstreams. You won’t be on the tools – this is a leadership role – but you’ll be responsible for managing and endorsing all design deliverables, guiding a team of engineers, and ensuring transformer systems are designed and procured correctly.

If you’ve got deep technical knowledge of transformers, HV systems, and design assurance, and competent leadership skills then this could be the one for you.

Required Experience

• Proven experience as a Design Manager / Engineering Manager in HV infrastructure across the energy sector is preferred
• Specialist knowledge in transformers, power systems or grid-scale electrical infrastructure
• We are looking for a someone who is an out and out guru with transformers
• Experience managing design packages for complex electrical systems (ideally 220kV / 330kV)
• Ability to interface with senior stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors
• Strong understanding of Australian standards, design compliance, and commissioning pathways
• Exposure to production shutdown environments or energy generation projects
