THE ROLE:

This position is a on a casual basis for approximately 4-6 weeks.

Based out of Renron’s Point Cook Workshop the role where you will be working on a variety of different projects from medium size fabrication to heavy structural and welding depending on the current operational requirement and your skill level.

Working out of the Renron Point Cook workshop, some site work on construction sites across Melbourne may also available for the right candidate.

Boilermakers and Trades Assistants will be 36 hours per week. The rates of pay in line with Renron EBA.

Required skills:

Cert 3 Metal Fabrication or a minimum of 3 years’ experience (essential)

Strong fabrication skills

Confident welding skills

Experience in FCAW, GMAW, MMAW welding procedures

Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings (essential)

Ability to pass a Weld Test (essential)

Be able to pass random drug and alcohol tests on request (essential)

Required experience;

Interpreting technical drawings (essential)

Able to weld with MIG to AS1554 standard (minimum SP1) (essential)

Arc welding to AS1554 standard (minimum SP1) (essential)

Automation competences OXY Quick cutter and lineal welding (desirable)

Experience with heavy steel 50mm-100mm thickness (desirable)

Set up and maintain welding equipment (essential)

Required qualities;

Focused with an eye for detail

Reliable and punctual

Work with minimal supervision

Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects

Ability to stand for long periods`

Ability to lift up to 25kg regularly.

Willingness to learn and master new technology. (essential)

Commitment to safe work practices.

Produce high quality work within agreed time frames.

Forklift license advantageous.
