The Opportunity

Our client is a community focused Federal Government Agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS6 Finance Business Partner to assist their Agency Budget and Financial Controls branch in delivering strategic financial advice and valued financial management services.

6-month initial contract with the view for extension, offering an APS6 rate of $60.26 + Super, to be based out of clients Richmond office.

As an APS6 you will be:

• Performing end of month reporting activities, including journals preparation, transaction analysis, and reports production.
• Preparing and reviewing data and workforce for allocating to project through allocations and providing input to project forecasts.
• Working with business to assist with budget allocations and phasings, Agency Budget and Finance Committee (ABFC) submissions and financial analysis.
• Ensuring financial record accuracy, including regular GL, cost centre, PO review and amendment.
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, implementing changes once approved and keeping records.
• Supporting financial decisions and budget process and assisting with project delivery within the portfolio/branch

Key skills required:

• Australian Citizenship is a requirement to be eligible to work for this Federal Agency
• Accounting knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Proficiency in SAP and SAP BT
• Sound verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to adapt changes
• Professional qualifications with CA or CPA
