This state department is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their SEQ Capital Works team. If you have a strong background in client-side project management for building construction and upgrades, this is your chance to get your foot in the door with a growing state department and take part in meaningful projects for the QLD state government!

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and implement project management plans, including risk assessment and lifecycle considerations.
• Lead procurement and management of consultants, ensuring fit-for-purpose design and compliance.
• Oversee contractor procurement, contract administration, and project delivery.
• Act as a Principal’s Representative and Contract Superintendent to drive project success.
• Manage project commissioning, handover documentation, and post-construction phases.
• Ensure projects meet targets in terms of time, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Provide leadership to project teams, resolving stakeholder challenges with confidence.

What You Bring:

• Proven experience in client-side project management for building construction/upgrades.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standard contracts, procurement processes, and contract law concepts.
• Expertise in project lifecycle management, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to prepare tender documents, consultancy briefs, and project reports.
• Strong business acumen – managing project profitability, efficiency, and compliance.
• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to mentor and guide project teams.
