Coolibah Care has been the aged care provider of choice in the Peel region for over 50 years. We are a not-for-profit organisation consistently meeting the standards developed by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission. Coolibah Care offers a range of services including residential care, independent living, home services, respite, and day care.

We are looking to employ a Maintenance Assistant on a full-time basis to help ensure our aged care facility and independent living units remain a comfortable, homelike environment for our residents. You will be part of a supportive team that maintains our buildings, grounds and outdoor spaces - creating a safe and enjoyable setting for older people to live with dignity and independence.

What you'll be doing:

• Performing general maintenance repairs to keep the facilities, equipment and grounds in top condition
• Carrying out scheduled maintenance as required to ensure a safe and visually appealing environment
• Ensuring the external cleanliness of the building is maintained
• Responding to maintenance requests and assisting with emergency repairs when needed
• Using appropriate PPE and manual handling procedures for safe working practices
• Assisting residents to live in a homelike environment, ensuring that their safety and dignity is maintained

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A proactive hands-on approach to general maintenance and repairs
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance, gardening and/or facility upkeep
• Ability to work both independently and as of a team
• An understanding of health and safety regulations (or willingness to learn)
• Full drivers’ licence – manual preferred
• A positive attitude and commitment to enhancing the well-being of older people
• Current Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
• Ideally you will have 2 COVID vaccinations and an up to date flu vaccination
