An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Strategic Infrastructure Planner to play a key role in shaping the long-term planning and asset management of building and open space infrastructure in the south-eastern suburbs. This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership, policy development, and lifecycle planning to ensure these assets meet current and future community needs.
About the Role
This role will oversee the development of capital works programs and coordinate inspection and maintenance strategies to enhance asset serviceability and longevity. A key focus will be integrating climate risk considerations, sustainable urban design principles, and best practice asset management into the planning process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic planning and policy development for building assets and open space infrastructure.
- Provide expert guidance on capital works programming, asset renewal, and lifecycle planning.
- Manage the Buildings Asset and Open Space portfolios, ensuring compliance with asset management strategies.
- Coordinate and oversee flood mitigation projects and infrastructure investigations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including service authorities, government agencies, and community groups.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives in asset management and reporting.
- Provide specialist advice on climate resilience, sustainable design, and infrastructure planning.
- Supervise consultants and contractors engaged in asset data collection and analysis.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in asset strategy, infrastructure planning, or asset management.
- Strong knowledge of Buildings Asset and Open Space portfolio management.
- Experience in policy and strategy development related to infrastructure assets.
- Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards, legislation, and asset management frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Proficiency in GIS software and lifecycle asset assessment is desirable.
- Professional Engineering Registration or the ability to obtain is highly regarded.
