About the role
Due to growth in the department, we are seeking an experienced Research Coordinator to join our Gastroenterology and Liver Research Group on a 12-month, Full Time contract (with possibility for extension).
The Gastroenterology and Liver Research Group is based at the Ingham Institute, and Liverpool Hospital. The research unit was established to investigate clinical phenotypes of gastroenterological and liver diseases, to build clinical trial capacity, and to improve community health outcomes through implementation of evidence and innovation in health care.
The Research Coordinator will assist with research activities of the Gastroenterology and Liver Department, specifically the Liver research studies, including the evaluation and recruitment of eligible participants to clinical trials, coordinate research studies, and implementing and monitoring study protocols. The role will support pharmaceutical clinical trials and investigator-led studies. You will assist with the effective and timely management of research and clinical trials activities and have opportunity to provide quality care to patients in the clinical trial setting.

As a Research Coordinator, you will have the following experience, at minimum:
- Health or science related bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification (or higher).
- Minimum 2 years previous research or pharmaceutical and/or investigator-led clinical trials coordination experience.
- Demonstrated high level prioritisation skills.
- Highly developed project planning, coordination, organisation and time management.
- Previous experience working with databases and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated work ethic and enthusiastic learner.
Desirable Criteria:
- Greater than 2 years’ experience in research coordination (including start-up of clinical trials, financial and regulatory).
- Strong academic records (e.g. high GPA, graduation with distinction).
- Experience in writing and submitting successful grant applications.
- Experience with leading a research team.
