Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Health Information Management to join School of Public Health and Social Work, Faculty of Health.
The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Health Information Management will be an emerging teaching and research leader within the Health Management discipline and the wider School of Public Health and Social Work. The position will contribute to undergraduate teaching in the Bachelor of Health Information Management, to creating work-integrated learning and field-trip opportunities for students, and will contribute to accreditation requirements for the University and professional organisations. It is expected that the successful applicant will demonstrate a high level of commitment to teaching, research and student supervision, and will support connectivity between education and industry, with whom they will engage substantially and effectively to enhance their teaching and research performance.

What you need to succeed
Level B
- Completion of, or a commitment to work towards a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline area, or equivalent industry experience and eligibility for full graduate membership of the HIMAA.
- Proven ability to effectively embed and deliver critical approaches to learning and teaching, including the innovative use of digital technologies and authentic assessment, resulting in quality student outcomes.
- Detailed understanding of contemporary practices and theoretical approaches as they apply to Health Information Management.
- Demonstrated success at developing internal and external partnerships that support and extend HIM practices.
- Successful track record of independent research and original publication, or a commitment to work towards these.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to work collegially and cooperatively in a team environment.
Level C
- Completion of a doctoral qualification in relevant discipline area, and eligibility for full graduate membership of the HIMAA.
- Proven ability to effectively design and embed critical approaches to learning and teaching, including innovative use of digital technologies and authentic assessment resulting in quality student outcomes.
- Detailed understanding of contemporary practices and theoretical approaches as they apply to Health Information Management.
- Demonstrated success at developing internal and external partnerships that support and extend HIM practices.
- Demonstrated track record in research and research leadership and original research publications in top tier journals.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and the capacity to inspire and lead a collaborative culture of success and high performance.
