The Role
With Imperial Jewellery’s strong foundations and extensive resources at hand, we seek an experienced and passionate sales associate to join our friendly team.
Based at our new store combining the jewellery workshop with a gorgeous showroom in Portside Wharf, this unique position and highly vital role, provides the successful candidate the opportunity to play an instrumental part in the Imperial Jewellery’s success. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a team of highly skilled and qualified jewellers, gemmologists, and valuers, all of whom share an appreciation for the importance of quality craftsmanship and customer service. Position Overview:
As a Jewellery Sales Associate & Administrator, you will be at the heart of our customer interactions while also supporting the administrative side of the business. This unique role combines the art of sales with the need for efficient administrative skills to ensure our operations run smoothly.
Key Sales Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by guiding customers through their Jewellery-buying experience, offering expert advice, and helping them select the perfect jewel and/or assist in custom designing their perfect ring.
- Cultivate lasting relationships with customers through personalized service, follow-up, and sharing product knowledge.
- Recommend jewellery that suit customer preferences and needs to reach sales expectations for the business
- Assist customers with custom designs, repairs and jewellery restoration.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all jewellery pieces, including their design, materials, and care instructions.
- Upsell and cross-sell related products to maximize sales opportunities.
- Assist with product displays and merchandising to keep the showroom looking polished and welcoming.
- Assist with auction submissions & second hand buying
Key Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage store inventory by tracking stock levels, and assisting with inventory audits.
- Process sales transactions accurately, including using POS systems and handling cash/credit card transactions.
- Assist with scheduling and managing the store calendar for appointments, events, and other activities.
- Handle incoming emails, calls, live chat, and customer inquiries, ensuring timely responses.
- Prepare reports on daily sales, stock levels, and other relevant administrative tasks.
- Maintain filing systems and assist with general office duties (e.g., data entry, ordering office supplies).
- Assist in coordinating marketing efforts, social media updates, or in-store events.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous Experience: At least 1-2 years in retail sales, preferably in jewellery or luxury products.
- Sales Skills: Strong ability to engage customers, understand their needs, and close sales.
- Organisational Skills: Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with POS systems, and basic inventory management tools.
- Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication both in person and over the phone or email.
- Passion for Jewellery: Genuine interest in Jewellery design, trends, and craftsmanship.
- Customer-Centric: Empathy, patience, and a focus on delivering the best customer experience.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
