About the Team
The Community Support Program (CSP) is a private sponsorship program for people in humanitarian situations overseas. SSI is an Approved Proposing Organisation (APO) that can propose eligible persons to apply for a Subclass 202 Global Special Humanitarian Visa under the CSP program. The program enables families, individuals, communities, and businesses to propose humanitarian visa with employment prospects for resettlement in Australia.
About You
Under the direction and supervision of the CSP National Lead, the Case Processing Officer is responsible for the assessment, lodgement and/or finalisation of visa applications for the CSP. The CPO undertakes visa related activities (assess, collect information, and lodge visa) duties while completing appropriate verification activities to ensure the integrity and validity of the visa application.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver CSP Program in accordance with Dept of Home Affairs program guidelines & agreement with SSI as an APO and in a client- centric approach.
- Ensure applicants and supporters are aware of their responsibilities and rights under the CSP program including assessment of Assurance of support.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders eg. Applicants, supporters, employers, target community members, DHA CSP unit, overseas post and UNHCR
- Assess, review, analyse, research and finalise CSP visa applications, ranging in complexity, in accordance with relevant government legislation and organisation policies and procedures.
- Deliver direct and systemic advocacy for individuals & families who do not meet the CSP program guidelines.
- Make evidence-based decisions to ensure consistencies and notify relevant authorised recipients or clients of the outcomes of the assessment.
- Generate and track invoices for work completed according to each stage of the CSP visa application process.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and data management of CSP information is maintained at high level including client file, case notes, client trackers, and provide data or information for use in reports, briefs, submissions, risk register and/or talking points as required.
- Other duties as directed from time to time within your skills range and capacity
Essential Criteria
- Strong Knowledge and understanding of the multicultural community sector, in particularly the migration, settlement and humanitarian context.
- Ability to deliver programs against government funding requirements or contractual obligations including relevant government policies and programs.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal constructively with complex and sometimes conflicting situations.
- Strong stakeholder relationship management skills including across sectors, localities and areas of work.
- Extensive experience in project management including coordinating multiple projects,
- Well adverse to community activation and engagement strategies
- Knowledge of the visa and various migration entry programs is DESIRABLE.
- Knowledge of and ability to advocate for vulnerable cases is DESIRABLE.
