About the Role
Barnardos are looking for a Caseworker for a full time 9 month contract in the Family Connect and Support Program based in Cranebrook, 2749.
The Caseworker - Family Connect and Support (FCS) will be responsible for;
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of families’ needs and risks using the provided assessment framework
- Provide information, referrals, and advocacy to support clients in accessing appropriate services
- Deliver services in line with program specifications, Barnardos policies, procedures, and processes
- Work with children, families, and young people to build capacity and reduce identified risks
- Coordinate cases, ensuring clients receive interim casework while being supported to access other services
- Maintain accurate client records and follow up on service engagement to confirm continued support
- Be flexible with working hours to meet families at times that best support them, such as before or after school
- Establish and maintain network relationships with key agencies, service providers, and referral services in all designated district areas
About You
As a Caseworker - Family Connect and Support (FCS), you will ideally have;
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or Social Welfare related discipline
- Demonstrated experience working with children, young people, and their families in a child protection context
- Demonstrated experience and skills in building rapport with families to support change
- Demonstrated experience and skills in assessment of families’ needs
- Ability to work in a quick-paced environment requiring efficient time management, adaptability, and the capacity to manage high-pressure situations while maintaining quality service delivery
- Demonstrated experience and skills in the provision of information and referrals to support families’ wellbeing
- Demonstrated experience of using electronic case management tool
- Hold a valid full NSW Driver’s License with access to a fully maintained vehicle for work purposes

Salary: Base $85,131 to $94,324 per annum plus leave loading plus superannuation. Packaging available to receive $15,860 of your salary tax free. Motor vehicle packaging available on selected roles.
To be considered for roles with Barnardos you will need to have (or be willing to have conducted) a National Police Clearance and current Working with Children check Clearance (or APP number) and for the ACT a Drivers History Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card and CYPS Check.
