• Mechanical Design Draftsperson to join large-scale NSW Government Client
• 6 month contract with potential extension paying up to $73 plus Super per hour based in Sydney
• 7+ years Mechanical Engineering Infrastructure project experience and high level of proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation packages

About the Role:
A leading Government client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Draftsperson to join their dynamic team. This individual will play a critical role in the development of detailed mechanical design drawings for various infrastructure projects, particularly focused on dam structures. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, providing high-level technical advice and innovative solutions that support the success of the company's clients.

Key Responsibilities:
* Create 2D mechanical detailed design and tender drawings of various components such as pipework, bulkhead flanges, valve extension spindles, trash racks, operating platforms, and other elements related to dam structures.
* Use modern engineering design packages such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation to produce accurate and high-quality technical drawings.
* Provide high-level technical advice to engineers, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative engineering outcomes, addressing client needs and improving project efficiencies.
* Deliver technical advice on innovative projects, ensuring they are completed within agreed timeframes, budget, and financial parameters, while adhering to industry standards and government regulations.
* Work within a team environment, collaborating across multiple engineering disciplines to promote a client-centric culture that emphasises collaboration, communication, and excellence.

Key Requirements:
* Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
* A minimum of 7 years' broad experience in mechanical engineering infrastructure projects, with experience in dam-related projects being an advantage.
* High proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation packages, with a strong competency in 2D design and detailing.
* Proven knowledge of engineering design standards associated with mechanical works, particularly within the context of dam structures and large-scale infrastructure projects.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* A commitment to delivering high-quality work, meeting project goals, and contributing to the continued success of the team and company.
