We are looking for an experienced and skilled Senior Advisor to join the Workplace Relations team for our client within the education sector. This role will focus on case management, managing industrial disputes, and providing expert advice on a range of employee relations matters. You will play a key part in implementing innovative solutions to workplace issues and contribute to the effective management of employee relations within a large, complex organisation.
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Manage complex casework and industrial disputes through to resolution, providing expert advice on employee relations matters such as performance management, misconduct, change management, and terminations.
- Apply your understanding of procedural fairness/natural justice principles in all areas of case management and dispute resolution.
- Negotiate and work collaboratively with unions, clients, and senior stakeholders to drive strategic outcomes.
- Diagnose and recommend innovative solutions to workplace issues, including early interventions and alternative dispute resolution strategies.
- Provide advice and guidance on a range of HR matters and contemporary practices, such as performance management and organisational change.
- Engage effectively with employees and people leaders, building positive relationships and supporting the achievement of strategic goals.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence outcomes and advise key stakeholders effectively.
To be suitable for the role you will have the below skills & experience:
- Solid knowledge of the Fair Work Act 2009 and the ability to develop expertise in relevant enterprise agreements and policies.
- Demonstrated experience in managing industrial disputes and case management in large, complex organisations.
- In-depth understanding of procedural fairness and natural justice principles.
- Proven experience in providing advice on a broad range of employee relations matters, including performance management, misconduct, industrial disputes, change management, and terminations.
- Strong negotiation and influencing abilities with experience working with unions, senior stakeholders, and clients.
- Ability to implement early interventions and resolve disputes using alternative dispute resolution strategies.
- Knowledge of contemporary HR practices, particularly in performance management and organisational change.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with a focus on engaging and supporting both employees and leaders.
