The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Case Manager to step into a pivotal role where you will play a key part in shaping workplace culture and ensuring the fair and effective management of conduct, performance, and rehabilitation matters.
As part of a small, high-performing team, you will work on complex and high-impact cases that directly influence agency-wide policies and decision-making.

The Role
Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will manage a diverse range of complex people management issues, ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert advice and support to the Director and stakeholders on complex employment matters
- Managing Code of Conduct investigations in line with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
- Overseeing performance management and underperformance matters within the APS framework
- Managing rehabilitation case management, ensuring effective return-to-work strategies and compliance with workplace rehabilitation frameworks
- Assisting with industrial employment matters involving external bodies such as the Fair Work Commission and Australian Human Rights Commission
- Contributing to the development and implementation of policies and initiatives that foster a strong performance, conduct, and rehabilitation culture
The Ideal Person
You are an experienced HR professional with a strong understanding of APS employment frameworks and a demonstrated ability to manage complex workplace matters.
Your expertise in interpreting and applying legislation, policies, and procedures will enable you to handle investigations into suspected misconduct, manage performance-related concerns, and oversee rehabilitation case management effectively.
With well-developed negotiation skills and the ability to engage sensitively with staff at all levels, you will be a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
Your commitment to integrity and excellence in workplace relations will be critical to your success in this role.
Certificate IV or Diploma in Government Investigations and/or HR qualifications highly desired.
Experience in managing Code of Conduct investigations, performance management, and rehabilitation case management within the APS framework is highly regarded.
Salary / Rate
- $100k – $110k + Super
- 6 month non-ongoing
- Baseline clearance or the ability to obtain
