About the role

Sheridan Road Rail is seeking a skilled Plant Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Riverstone, NSW. As a fulltime Plant Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our heavy machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

What you'll be doing

• Conduct scheduled maintenance and inspections on a variety of heavy equipment, including Trucks, excavators, MEWPs, Rail Trailers, and other construction machinery
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel-powered equipment
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using systems on iPads.
• Collaborate with the wider team to ensure the efficient and safe operation of all machinery
• Adhere to all safety protocols

What we're looking for

• Formal trade qualification as Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic
• Extensive knowledge of diesel engine maintenance and repair
• Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
