Oscar Furniture has been operating for over 50 years as manufacturers of high-quality Australian made healthcare and commercial furniture.

We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist to join our Head Office being based in Horsham. This is an exciting opportunity to join and make valued contributions to a growing and diverse regional enterprise.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop an understanding of the Oscar Group organisation and business environment in which it operates to better understand its goals and how best procurement practices, procedures and policies can help achieve organisational outcomes.
  2. Support efforts to improve supply chain efficiency, certainty of supply, maintain and improve product quality standards, and reduce costs.
  3. Develop optimal stock control and replenishment strategies and processes.
  4. Establish communication and engagement amongst key Oscar Group department stakeholders to ensure sourcing strategies and processes meet organizational needs.
  5. Identify weaknesses in current procurement processes and procedures, tackle issues on the basis of risk and budget, identify training needs, and develop plans to rectify.
  6. Report on procurement activity in terms of data, results, project and program progress, stock levels and inventory turnover, freight and shipping, costs and savings.
  7. Assist in the creation of more automated processes to enhance all points above.
  8. Representing the Business Services department as procurement specialist in projects and other organisational meets where required, and assist stakeholders in sourcing, investigating and procuring new items as required.
  9. Follow any other reasonable direction as required

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum bachelor degree qualification
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Solid and effective interpersonal and communication skills (including oral, written and visual)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally with colleagues as well as externally with suppliers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; Acute awareness and ability to manage deadlines
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is key to this position
