About Us
Western Sydney University is a forward-thinking, research-led institution, thriving in Australia’s most dynamic and economically significant region. With 11 campuses in Sydney and additional locations in Vietnam and Indonesia, Western Sydney University is expanding globally, with plans for new campuses in India. Our community comprises over 200,000 alumni, nearly 50,000 students, and around 3,500 staff, all contributing to our impact in education and research. Ranked in the top two percent of universities globally, we lead in the Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings, achieving first worldwide for commitment to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals in 2022, 2023, and 2024.

The Office for People (O4P) is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operation implementation of human resource strategies relating to the attraction, retention, development, and management of academic and professional staff in the University.

The Opportunity
Become a key player in our Western Pay team at the picturesque Hawkesbury Campus! We're seeking two dedicated Payroll Advisors for 12-month fixed-term contracts to ensure the seamless delivery of our pay confidence obligations. This role offers the chance to manage accurate and timely payroll processing, navigate complex legal and taxation requirements, and provide expert payroll services to our diverse university community. You'll collaborate closely with HR, finance, and other staff, ensuring smooth and compliant payroll operations.

About You
We're looking for meticulous individuals with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to manage competing priorities and maintain confidentiality is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, as you'll be liaising with various stakeholders across the university. Computer literacy, including experience with a contemporary HRMIS, is required. While experience with Ascender Pay or within a university setting is highly regarded, we value a strong commitment to accuracy and a passion for payroll compliance and improvement. If you're a team player who can also work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes, we encourage you to apply.

There are two Full Time, Fixed-Term positions available to May 2026, based at Hawkesbury Campus. Travel to other campuses of the University may be required. Please review the position description for further information.

If you're excited to contribute to a thriving organisation and this sounds like an opportunity for you, we want to hear from you! Apply now ensuring you address each of the screening questions. Don't miss this chance to work at Western Sydney University, where every day is an opportunity to make a difference!
