Meriton Suites is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to support our celebrated Broadbeach property.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager as Maintenance Supervisor you will be responsible for facilitating a cohesive environment between maintenance, housekeeping and front office departments and ensure all maintenance/painting staff are meeting service and safety standards across hotel operations and facilities, including suites, public areas and back of house.

Your key responsibilities

• Preferred trade certification and experience.
• Will have a proven history working in a hotel, or similar.
• Strong leadership skills and building management knowledge.
• Being able to effectively support a team in a safe working environment.
• Support in the maintaining and upkeep of the property and facilities at all times

Daily duties may include, but not limited to

• Fitting, testing, repairing and replacing fixtures and fittings, including lightbulbs, windows, doors, and handrails.
• Performing basic plumbing maintenance and repairs on taps, basins and toilets.
• Performing basic carpentry, including hanging and replacing doors and operating power tools.
• Performing minor welds to fabricate or repair fixtures.
• Checking safety equipment such as fire hoses, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and alarms.
• Reporting requirements for significant repairs to management.
• Clearing gutters and common areas of rubbish and debris.
• Applying and repairing paint and plaster.
• Changing locks on doors and windows.

To be successful in this role you will have

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• A high level of attention to detail.
• The ability to work unsupervised.
• Full availability to work a 7-day rotating roster.
• Professional approach in dealing with guests and other staff members whilst carrying out your daily tasks.
