We’re on the lookout for two types of digital experts:

1 X Head of Digital – A full-time leader who can oversee all digital campaigns, manage strategy, and guide the team while also contributing billable hours. This role requires both a macro and micro perspective—big-picture thinking combined with hands-on execution to ensure efficiency and maximise ROI for clients.

Our current Head of Digital is stepping up into the GM role after 7 years, so we’re looking for someone who can take the reins of this small but growing agency. You’ll work closely with them as they train you in the MKTNG way and ensure a seamless transition. This is your chance to step into a leadership role while still doing what you love—billing senior-level digital work, overseeing campaign quality, and managing a team of digital specialists.

Who We Need: We’re looking for senior digital experts with leadership experience who can confidently manage Meta, Google, and LinkedIn Ads, oversee campaign performance, and mentor a team while keeping high-quality execution at the forefront.

If you come from a high-pressure agency background, this role will feel like moving from 110 km/h on the freeway to a steady 80 km/h—fast, but sustainable. With this autonomy comes responsibility. We’re looking for A-players who take ownership, drive results, and are committed to delivering exceptional work. We often find ourselves playing the role of a consultant, providing recommendations based on data and what we would do in our client's shoes.

What You’ll Be Doing (**Applies to Head of Digital Position):

  • Ensuring campaign quality—reviewing ad strategy, optimising performance, and maintaining high execution standards
  • Billing 25-35 hours per week—senior-level work across digital advertising platforms (KPI can be discussed in line with salary)
  • Shaping our digital processes—helping refine ClickUp workflows & improve project efficiency
  • Client strategy & consultation—working closely with clients to develop impactful digital marketing campaigns
  • ** aligning team goals, driving agency growth, and ensuring seamless digital execution
  • ** mentoring, managing, and delegating work to experienced specialists

    Must-Haves:
  • Marketing agency experience—minimum 5 years in a digital performance role within a marketing agency
  • Google & Meta Certified—demonstrated expertise in performance marketing
  • Experience managing digital specialists—leading teams & quality assurance
  • Strong copywriting skills—the ability to craft compelling ad copy that aligns with client brands, working with AI tools to assist, but not relying on them 100%
  • Experience with workflow management tools—ClickUp preferred, or similar project management platforms
  • Analytical mindset—capable of breaking down campaign performance and optimising for ROI/profit
  • Billable time experience – experience with tracking your time each day in a billing system (WFM) with descriptions (our clients see these), and hitting a billing KPI for the week
  • Availability within AEDT business hours—must be able to attend client and internal meetings, collaborate with the MKTNG team, and remain responsive during core working hours.
  • A dedicated, distraction-free workspace—must work from a quiet and professional environment with reliable WiFi (no cafés or noisy settings).

    Nice-to-Haves:
  • Experience with WordPress, SEO, social media management, Canva and common digital marketing tools
  • Email marketing experience—database segmentation, CRM tools (Talkbox, Revinate, SevenRooms, MailChimp)
  • Familiarity with SEMrush, WorkflowMax, and advanced tracking tools
  • Experience with TikTok Ads
  • Qualifications (e.g. Uni degree or diploma) in marketing or digital media preferred
