About the role:
Engineers Australia Victoria delivers a range of CPD, Networking, STEM and Community outreach activities based out of our on-site auditorium facilities and various off-site locations across Victoria. The Member Engagement Assistant is primarily responsible for: (1) hosting events held in the auditorium including operation and maintenance of the audio-visual equipment, facilities and assets, and (2) hosting, supporting and representing Engineers Australia at off-site activities including Division led CPD, Advocacy and Celebration events as well as Careers and STEM outreach programs.
This is a casual opportunity offering 20 hours per fortnight. This role is onsite.
In this role you will:
· Host and support Member Groups in the Auditorium, managing catering, audio-visual setups, and event logistics.
· Ensure the auditorium is tidy, open, and closed appropriately for events.
· Operate and maintain AV equipment during events.
· Assist with event setup, welcoming attendees, and housekeeping.
· Record attendance for CPD and WH&S compliance.
· Prepare event catering and maintain a hygienic kitchen.
· Manage auditorium inventory and reorder supplies as needed.
· Assist with guest registration and liaison at offsite events.
· Participate in Career Fairs and STEM events as a representative.
· Act as a House Leader at various STEM school events.
· Respond efficiently to inquiries from event attendees, directing complex issues to Member Services.
· Engage in community activities to promote the engineering profession.
· Supporting Fellow Eng Exec /Recognition event with certificate management
· Administrative support duties as required including updating records in CRM, completing event briefs and follow-ups.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
· You have an understanding of engineering, and the engineering profession preferably gained through relevant study,
· You are bright, positive and customer-oriented attitude
· You maintain excellent verbal communication skills and have good written skills
· You are comfortable working and understanding audio-visual equipment.
· You do well remaining calm under pressure
· You will do well in this role if you have a willingness to support other team members
· You remain professional and diligent and use your initiative when completing tasks
· You are reliable and respectful of fellow staff and stakeholders
· You have a background in events and hospitality
