About Bric Housing
Bric Housing is a non-profit community housing organisation that provides secure and affordable homes for people in our community facing disadvantage. Our vision is much bigger than providing a house for our tenants but a home, a place they can build their life and see all the possibilities of their future.
At present we manage 940 tenancies across the inner and outer northern suburbs of Brisbane, as well as Redcliffe and Caboolture. Our enthusiasm and dedication to making a difference has paved the way for exciting plans in our future.
About the role
Join us as an Asset Officer and become a vital part of our mission to optimise and manage our growing asset portfolio! In this engaging role, you’ll be at the forefront of managing our asset portfolio, ensuring that every property is tracked, maintained, and optimised for peak performance.
As our Asset Officer, you’ll dive into a variety of tasks, including preparing, implementing, and auditing various programs and building-related maintenance activities across our extensive property portfolio. You’ll collaborate closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders, implementing best practices and supporting informed decision-making that keeps everything running smoothly.
Your day-to-day will include maintaining accurate records, conducting inspections, diagnosing issues, and coordinating property programs - all while delivering excellent customer service. You’ll also play a key role in monitoring compliance with legislation and safety standards, making sure our contractors deliver quality work on time.

About You
You are positive and resilient, with a strong customer focus, and a commitment to working with tenants from culturally diverse backgrounds. You work well with others and contribute to a positive workplace culture. You have a good understanding of residential assets and building maintenance. A natural multitasker with the ability to converse with various stakeholders from trades, tenants, staff, and management. You demonstrate good problem-solving skills and are comfortable handling challenging situations and people in a sometimes-complex environment.
You actively demonstrate your ability to manage your time and prioritise work accordingly. You communicate effectively and can balance a diverse workload.
You will also have:
- Previous experience with 1 - 2 years+ in facilities management or building maintenance role
- Experience and knowledge in the residential construction industry (desirable)
- Excellent organisational and communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Understanding of regulatory requirements, building compliance and safety
- standards including fire systems and cyclical maintenance planning, procurement and delivery.
- Understanding of asset management principles and practices.
- A minimum 2 years' experience in non for profit or social housing is desirable.

- have, or be willing to apply for, a valid National Police Check.
