Hays Recruitment are seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join a Local Council on a temporary contract in South West Sydney, 2570.

There is an attractive hourly pay rate available for the right candidate. Full-time position (35hrs per week), based in Oran Park with free onsite parking. We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate who is experienced and confident onsite with the following tasks:

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of regulated premises and ensure compliance with environmental and public health legislation.
• Investigate complaints related to air, water, noise, land, and on-site sewage management.
• Apply relevant Acts and Regulations
• Provide expert advice and make sound judgments based on analysis of complex situations.
• Engage with stakeholders and the community, demonstrating strong communication and conflict resolution skills.

What you'll need to succeed

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health, Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and public health regulations.
• Experience in inspections, regulatory compliance, and complaint resolution.
• Proficiency in computer and database systems.
• Driving License
