Environmental Health Officer (Contract Role)

• Location: Oran Park, NSW
• Contract Role: 4 Month Temp Contract
• Pay Rate: $55-$70 per hour + Super
• Working Hours: 35 hours per week Monday-Friday

We are seeking an Environmental Health Officer to join a Local Council on a temporary contract.

This role involves enforcing public health and environmental regulations, conducting inspections, and resolving complaints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspections of regulated premises and ensure compliance with environmental and public health legislation.
• Investigate complaints related to air, water, noise, land, and on-site sewage management.
• Apply relevant Acts and Regulations
• Provide expert advice and make sound judgments based on analysis of complex situations.
• Engage with stakeholders and the community, demonstrating strong communication and conflict resolution skills.

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Health, Science, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of environmental and public health regulations.
• Experience in inspections, regulatory compliance, and complaint resolution.
• Proficiency in computer and database systems.
• Driving License

Desirable:

• Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Science or related discipline.
• Experience with on-site sewage management approvals and inspections.
