Our client is seeking an experienced IT Business Systems & Applications Lead to manage and optimise their critical business applications and systems. This is a full-time role based in Surry Hills, NSW, offering an exciting opportunity to ensure seamless system performance, support business processes, and drive technology improvements in a dynamic and growing organisation.

About the role

The IT Business Systems & Applications Lead will oversee the operational management of key business systems, ensuring they align with organisational goals while maintaining optimal performance and user satisfaction. This leadership role requires a mix of hands-on technical expertise and strategic oversight to enhance system efficiency, lead technical teams, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver system improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, support, and optimise business-critical applications such as ERP, CRM, and HRIS.
• Oversee system lifecycle management, including upgrades, patches, and integrations.
• Act as the escalation point for complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all business systems.
• Develop and maintain clear documentation for system processes and workflows.
• Mentor and lead a small team (if applicable) while coordinating with external vendors.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee service level agreements (SLAs).
• Align IT initiatives with business goals, ensuring technology supports operational efficiency.

What we’re looking for

• 8+ years of experience in IT systems and applications support, including project management.
• Proven experience managing enterprise applications such as ERP, CRM, and data reporting tools.
• Strong technical knowledge of cloud computing, cybersecurity, and system integrations.
• Expertise in API technologies and workflow automation (e.g., Power BI, Power Apps, MS Flow).
• Experience leading IT teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a complex IT environment.
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, PRINCE2, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or CISA are highly regarded.
• Must have full working rights in Australia
