ICT Infrastructure & Operations Lead

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Operations Lead to oversee their IT infrastructure and operations. This is a full-time role based close to Central Station in Sydney, offering an exciting opportunity to help drive digital transformation, enhance system security and ensure operational excellence in a dynamic and growing organisation.

About the role

The IT Operations Lead will be responsible for managing IT service delivery, infrastructure and security while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This leadership role requires a strategic hands on thinker with strong technical expertise and a passion for driving efficiency and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee IT operations, including service desk, networks, servers, cloud infrastructure and storage.
• Implement and maintain ITIL-aligned service management processes for incident, problem, and change management.
• Lead cybersecurity initiatives, risk management, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Develop and execute disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and optimise IT budgets.
• Mentor and lead the IT team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Align IT strategies with business goals, ensuring technology supports operational efficiency.

What we’re looking for and MUST have :

• 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong technical expertise in networks, servers, virtualisation, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and enterprise storage.
• Proven experience implementing ITIL-aligned service management processes.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management, and IT governance frameworks.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• A strategic mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (ITIL, CCNP/CCIE, Microsoft Azure Architect, AWS Solutions Architect) are highly regarded.
• Must have full working rights in Australia
