Overview:

This role is responsible for developing operational transport forecasts, a critical element for future planning. This is achieved through creating traffic, meso, and micro models, and applying relevant assumptions to meet the unique requirements of various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct network, route, and intersection analysis, and develop both operational and strategic traffic models internally to support the needs of various business areas and projects.
• Apply assumptions to models and forecasting tools in response to client requests, ensuring the model outputs are aligned with project objectives and client requirements.
• Collaborate with the model assumptions team to integrate standard assumptions, while incorporating specific assumptions for each project based on data analysis related to roads, public transport, and active transport.
• Work closely with analytics and customer research teams to gather assumptions essential for generating accurate forecasts for each project.
• Keep clients updated and manage expectations about the practical applications of operational transport models, while assisting in the preparation of recommendations.
• Provide peer reviews for models developed by internal and external operational forecasters, ensuring accuracy in assumptions and outputs, and ensuring the models can withstand external scrutiny.
• Conduct timely reviews of model inputs and outputs for quality assurance, ensuring alignment with project objectives, projections, and communicated outcomes.
• Understand the scope, geographical areas, timelines, customer responses, and required functionalities of the model to ensure the model's scope aligns with project expectations.

Essential Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Extensive experience in operational and traffic model development, along with relevant modelling applications.
• Proficiency in Aimsun, Vissim, and SIDRA is essential.
• Experience in Python or other programming languages is preferred.
