About the Role

This role assists in the development and provision of business case, economic and financial appraisal frameworks, policies and guidelines and monitor adherence to such. This position is also responsible for developing and refining economic models to calculate and update economic parameters for use in undertaking cost benefit analysis of programs and projects.

Key accountabilities include:

• Provide accurate, timely and strategic economic information, analysis and advice to support project economic analysis, business case development and assurance. Collaborate with industry and government departments and jurisdictions on the development of best practice economic frameworks, methodologies and data to contribute to the development and application of innovative approaches to economic modelling and analysis in project development.
• Conduct detailed economic modelling and analysis, drawing on consistent data, frameworks and methodologies, to inform, assess and evaluate the economic viability and benefits of projects in development according to customer and client outcomes, value for money, efficiency and sustainability. Facilitate the consistent application and continuous improvement of frameworks, methodologies, processes and tools to provide robust guidance and support to project teams and ensure compliance with guidelines and relevant processes and procedures.
• Deliver high quality, accurate, timely and strategic advice relating to the economic evaluation and cost benefit analysis of projects.
• Work collaboratively with the Business Case Advisory and Assurance team to undertake assurance reviews with a technical focus on the cost benefit analysis and economic assessments to ensure consistency and value for money.

About You

• Delivery of high quality and timely economic advice and strategic economic frameworks and guidelines for cost benefit analysis in the Cluster.
• Demonstrated economic, analytical and modelling experience in the transport industry.
• Demonstrated experience in the assessment of economic appraisal and business case of Infrastructure projects.
