Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for optimizing business processes and leveraging technology to make a meaningful impact? Churches of Christ, a prominent not-for-profit organization with over 200 services in more than 100 communities across Queensland and Victoria, is seeking a dedicated Business Analyst to join our Information Technology Group. In this role, you'll contribute to our mission of providing Christ-inspired care and compassion to vulnerable individuals at various stages of their life journey.

Salary Sacrifice

As a not-for-profit entity, our employees can package up to $18,549 p.a. of their taxable income before your income tax is calculated. Up to $15,900 p.a. on everyday expenses (such as mortgage payments, rent, groceries, bills and insurance) plus up to $2,649 p.a. on meal/entertainment benefits.

Your Role

As a Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in analysing business needs and processes, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending innovative solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborative Requirement Gathering: Engage with key stakeholders to define, scope, and document requirements for delivering centralized business analytics, data reporting dashboards, and related services.
  • Project Management: Work closely with the IT Data and Development Manager, General Manager of Technology, and other team members to deliver solutions and projects within defined timelines and quality standards.
  • Process Optimization: Develop and manage project scopes, objectives, and schedules. Coordinate and prioritize business and data reporting requirements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate project risks. Facilitate the resolution of project issues to ensure successful delivery.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, promoting cross-functional collaboration to achieve project objectives.
  • Change Management: Facilitate organizational change management to adopt and embed necessary changes within the organization.

About You

To excel in this role, you will bring:

  • Educational Background: A relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualification in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business, or equivalent experience. Certifications such as Prince2, PMI Professional, or Agile Foundation are highly regarded.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in interpreting business requirements and translating them into functional and non-functional specifications.
  • Process Improvement Experience: Proficiency in Business Process Modelling and Process Mapping, focusing on operational efficiency.
  • Methodological Expertise: Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to consult, manage, and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including facilitating business workshops and managing dependencies, issues, and risks.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced computer skills, including the use of Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, and Teams. Familiarity with Business Analytics tools such as DevOps, Jira, PowerBI, and Confluence, as well as Visio.
  • Personal Attributes: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to continuous improvement, and an understanding of the principles and values of Christianity, aligning with the mission, vision, and values of Churches of Christ.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience working in project teams as a Business Analyst.
  • Current National Police Certificate – or the ability to acquire.
  • Valid Working with Children (Blue Card) – or the ability to acquire.
  • Child Safety - Personal History Screening Check (LCS) – or the ability to acquire.
