THE OPPORTUNITY
Salary: $83,214 - $89,326 per annum pro rata + 11.5% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
Time Fraction: Part Time, 0.6 EFT.
Location: Across all major Holmesglen campuses.
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of appointment, with a 6-month qualifying period.
Join our dedicated Student Wellbeing team and make a meaningful impact! As a Student Welfare Officer, you will play a key role in identifying and implementing welfare services to support students across all Holmesglen campuses. Your responsibilities include contributing to policy development, maintaining records, and assisting in the planning of orientations and events. You’ll also develop procedures to address student issues, support service evaluation, and prepare reports on welfare trends. ABOUT YOU
- Holds relevant graduate qualifications with demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Strong background in welfare program planning, evaluation, and policy development.
- Skilled in delivering student support initiatives, including orientations and events.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills to effectively support student needs.
- Committed to ongoing professional development and innovation in student welfare.
- Experienced in managing welfare services, maintaining records, and coordinating resources.

The Student Wellbeing Department provides comprehensive counselling and welfare services to support the holistic health and welfare of students. This encompasses providing short term counselling sessions, crisis intervention and mental health support services across all Holmesglen campuses. Additionally, the department coordinates welfare programs aimed at addressing students’ diverse needs, including financial assistance, housing support and food security initiatives. Through collaboration with Holmesglen departments and community resources, the department supports students to access necessary support systems to navigate challenges, promote resilience and foster a positive educational and personal experience.
